Market Conditions Inpres Pasar Minggu after the fire (ANTARA)

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Market Traders Association (IKAPPI) asked the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan to compensate traders whose stalls were burned at pasar Inpres Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.

Chairman of IKAPPI Abdullah Mansuri said that the assistance of burned business compensation from the Dki Provincial Government could ease the burden on the victims of traders to maintain their economy.

"We ask the Provincial Government of Dki Jakarta to be able to provide compensation for the fires that occurred in this holy month. Because it is a heavy blow, deep sorrow, our trade is on fire," Abdullah said in a statement on Tuesday, April 13.

Abdullah asked PD Pasar Jaya as bumd market management to accelerate the relocation or temporary shelter of traders whose stalls were burned.

Because, he said, the month of Ramadan is currently the harvest month for market traders. Supposedly, traders can increase income if the kiosk is not burned.

"We ask that the lapak that will be there becomes a lapak that is worth to be occupied by traders," he said.

The Fire of Pasar Inpres Pasar Minggu, Pasar Minggu Village, South Jakarta last night was suspected to have occurred due to a short circuit of electricity.

"The loss is approximately Rp2 billion," said Public Relations Of The Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) DKI Jakarta Mulat Wijayanto.

Mulat explained that he received a report of a fire in Pasar Inpres at 18.29 WIB. Initially, a trader noticed a fire in one of the businesses in Block C of Pasar Inpres.

"The merchant then informed the other sword and was extinguished by other traders and security, but failed and then contacted the firefighters," Mulat said.

The South Jakarta Gulkarmat Service tribe deployed 31 pump cars as well as 116 fire personnel to put out the fire. After six hours, the fire was finally extinguished at 05.00 WIB.

Around 8:30 p.m., the fire spread to almost the entire area of Block C. This block has an area of about 2,000 square meters.

It is recorded that there are 389 kiosks affected by the fire, with details of 268 kiosks on the basement floor, 120 kiosks on the ground floor, and 1 kiosk on the 1st floor.
