Minister Agus Transfers 302 Prisoners To Nusa Kambangan: Drug Controller From Prison

JAKARTA - The Minister of Immigration and Corrections, Agus Indrianto, said that he had transferred 302 narcotics convicts to prisons with super tight security. Because they are still involved in the vortex of narcotics trafficking.

"Currently, we have transferred the perpetrators and drug dealers who are suspected of circulating, controlling the circulation of narcotics crimes from within the prison," Agus told reporters quoted on Friday, December 6.

The prison with the strict security in question is Nusa Kambangan. This step was taken as an effort to break the chain of involvement of prisoners in narcotics networks.

"There are 302 that we have moved to the super maximum security prison in Nusa Kambangan. This will continue," he said.

In addition, Agus also said that his party had removed dozens of guards to the head of the prison. Because they were proven to have consumed narcotics.

Based on the data, several employees who were deactivated served in North Sumatra and Jember.

"We have disabled 14 correctional officers consisting of Kalapas, there are those who insult the KPLP and there are even employees rather than guards involved in it," said Agus.

On the other hand, Agus emphasized that the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections will continue to assist law enforcement officials in eradicating narcotics trafficking according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

"Efforts to the success of this drug eradication desk can contribute to the President's dream to make Indonesia more free from drugs," said Agus.
