Police Confiscate Dozens Of Gambling Machines In Medan

The joint police team confiscated dozens of electronic gambling machines operating in Medan Belawan District.

"Officers confiscated 44 units of evidence of the digong machine, from two locations in Belawan District," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi in Medan, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 5.

Hadi said of the total evidence, 36 gambling machines were found in the house of a man with the initials L (57) and eight other machines found in an empty house.

From the results of the interrogation of L, that the house had been rented by AW (60), a resident of Taman Grand Permata Hijau, who is suspected of being the owner of the machine, which has been operating for 12 months at a rate of IDR 300 thousand per month.

"This gambling activity not only violates the law, but also damages the morals and social order of society. The police will continue to take firm action against all forms of gambling in the North Sumatra region," he said.

Hadi stated that all evidence and suspects are now being secured at the Belawan Harbor Police for further legal proceedings.

"The police will also explore the involvement of other parties in this gambling network to ensure similar practices do not occur again," he said.
