Jusuf Kalla Reminds Ethics Related To The Issue Of The Chairman Of PMI Rocked

Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Jusuf Kalla spoke about the issue that he was shaken from his position as General Chair of PMI ahead of the 22nd National Conference (Munas) in December 2024.

The former Vice President said that all PMI members have the same right to become general chairman. However, even though they have the same rights, they must prioritize ethics and meet the requirements that have been regulated in the organization's AD/ART.

"It can't be like various parties. This is a matter of humanity, so it must be in accordance with ethics, AD/ART and organizational regulations," he told reporters after inaugurating the PMI NTB board at the NTB Governor's Hall in Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 3.

Jusuf Kalla did not want to comment too far regarding this matter. Including, there was an attempt to maneuver from the Agung Laksono camp who wanted to replace him as the General Chair of PMI.

"Gung's step, I don't know yet," he said as he passed by reporters.

Previously, rumors about an attempt to shake up Jusuf Kalla from the General Chairperson of PMI strengthened ahead of the 22nd National Conference (Munas) in December 2024.

This was revealed by the former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources who is also the former Secretary General of PMI, Sudirman Said when talking to senior journalists, Hersubeno Arief, who was uploaded to the Hersubeno Point account entitled "This Danger, Jusuf Kalla Wants to be Removed from PMI" seen Sunday, December 1, 2024.

In the conversation, Sudirman Said and Hersubeno discussed the circulation of a letter from the Indonesian Blood Donor Committee. This letter contains invitations to the heads of PMI districts, cities, provinces throughout Indonesia to come to the Sultan Hotel Jakarta which contains it to support Agung Laksono as the new PMI Chairman.

Ironically, the Indonesian Blood Donor Committee organization, according to Sudirman Said, has been unknown to PMI.
