BMKG Said, Rain In Bengkulu Was Caused By The Suspension Of Wind Speed

BENGKULU - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds that occurred in Bengkulu was caused by a slowdown in wind speed and turns.

Rainfall is also caused by high humidity in the lower to upper layers and unstable air conditions increase the potential for convective cloud growth in some areas in Bengkulu Province.

"For global phenomena, there is none, regionally because of the slowdown and wind turns, as well as high humidity, so the growth of rain clouds is quite large," said Head of Data and Information at the Baai Island Climatology Station, Bengkulu Anang Anwar in Bengkulu City, Antara, Tuesday, December 3.

Therefore, he continued, moderate to high intensity rainfall accompanied by strong winds will occur for the next few days in the area in Bengkulu, such as Mukomuko Regency, North Bengkulu Regency, Lebong Regency, Central Bengkulu Regency, Seluma Regency, South Bengkulu Regency, Kaur Regency, Kepahiang Regency, Rejang Lebong Regency, and Bengkulu City.

Previously, the Bengkulu City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded as many as 473 heads of families (KK) who were in 18 sub-districts affected by post-rain floods that had occurred since last night (1/12).

"Hundreds of families affected by the flood and we have also evacuated 10 motorbikes," said Bengkulu City BPBD Chief Executive Will Holpi.

He said the 18 sub-districts were located in five sub-districts in Bengkulu City, such as Singaran Pati District, Ratu Agung District, Selebar District, Kampung Melayu District, and Muara Bangkahulu District.

Based on the information and data received from members of the Bengkulu City BPBD in the field, he said, there were no casualties due to the sinking of hundreds of residents' houses.
