DKPP Pecat Ummi Wahyuni From The Chairman Of The West Java KPU, The Pilkada Stage Continues

The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Java (Jabar) has ensured that the 2024 Pilkada stages will not be disturbed by the dismissal of West Java KPU Chairman Ummi Wahyuni.

Head of the West Java KPU Socialization, Voter Education and Community Participation Division (Sosdiklih Parmas) Hedi Ardia ensured that the stages of the pilkada will continue, especially those that are crucial, namely vote counting even though there is a problem.

"We ensure that the 2024 simultaneous regional elections are not disturbed by the DKPP decision (the dismissal of Ummi Wahyuni)," Hedi said when contacted in Bandung, Monday, December 2, was confiscated by Antara.

"What is certain is that we are saddened by the decision. We will hold a plenary meeting, to determine the next steps," he continued.

Previously, the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) RI dismissed Ummi Wahyuni from her position as Chairman of the West Java KPU.

Ummi's dismissal was carried out through a trial held online in Jakarta, Monday, December 2, 2024.

"Granted the complainant's complaint for some. Sentencing harsh warning sanctions and dismissal from the chairman position to the defendant, Ummi Wahyuni as chairman and concurrently a member of the West Java Province KPU, as of the time this decision was read out," said DKPP Chairman Heddy Lugito in an open session.

Ummi was found guilty and violated the code of ethics of the lawsuit by NasDem Party politician Eep Hidayat with case number 131-PKE-DKPP/VII/2024. This decision was requested to be implemented for the next seven days.

"Ordered the KPU to carry out this decision as long as it was against the lawmaker no later than seven days after this decision was read out. Ordered Bawaslu to oversee the implementation of this decision," he said.

In the complaint report read out by members of the reader's assembly, DKPP has examined and handed down a decision on the violation of the code of ethics submitted by Syarif Hidayat or Eep Hidayat, referred to as a complainant. The complaint report was addressed to Ummi Wahyuni as Chairman of the West Java KPU, who was referred to as a defendant.

Chronology was read out by one of the DKPP members. Facts started from the examination hearing on March 6-11, 2024. At that time, an open meeting was held to determine the results of the West Java provincial election, that the West Java electoral districts IX, which included Sumedang, Majalengka, and Subang, had been plenary on the first, third, and fifth days.

On March 6, 2024, is the reading of the results by the Sumedang KPU, March 8, 2024, which is the reading of the results by the Majalengka KPU, and March 10, 2025 is the reading of the results by the Sumedang KPU. It was revealed that in reading the election results in the three regions, there were no objections.

"The facts were revealed on March 18, 2024, at 05.30 WIB, the plenary meeting was chaired by Hedi Ardia as the Head of the West Java KPU's Socialization, Education for Voters and Community Participation Division (Sosdiklih Parmas). When the plenary recapitulation took place, the PKS witness protested the results of the vote acquisition from the NasDem party in West Java IX which was not appropriate or suspected of having a vote shift," said the reader.

"The West Java KPU on behalf of Hedi Ardia ordered the West Java KPU, on behalf of the Gumilar Respati to check Sirekap and immediately repair it. After being printed, submitted to the witnesses, and the results found that there were no changes," he continued.

However, before the signing, there was no attempt from the Chairman of the West Java KPU, Ummi Wahyuni, to check the truth and suitability of the documents to be signed. It was revealed the fact that the D form was against the difference in votes of the NasDem party in West Java IX in serial number 5. There was a difference in the 4,015 votes which resulted in additional votes in certain candidates.

"So the change in voice affected the votes in West Java electoral district IX Province from 27,531 votes to 31,546 votes. So that the candidate number 5 became ranked 1 and the complainant was ranked 2", said the reader.

The votes for certain DPR RI candidates increased, but the votes of the NasDem Party decreased. In addition, the recapitulation video for the West Java electoral district IX disappeared from the live streaming video because it was unlisted. It is said that in the evidence of the conversation of one of the KPU commissioners, Chaeruman Setyannugraha and M Refaldi, there was a request from the KPU chairman to take down the video, which was then directed. So that the live streaming cannot be accessed.

"DKPP assesses that the actions of the defendants who did not carry out the funeral of the West Java electoral district IX include Sumedang, Majalengka, and Subang are actions that are not justified according to the ethics of holding elections. The defendant is unprofessional and accountable in carrying out the task of protecting the voices of the people, resulting in a shift in votes causing losses to complainants," said the reader.

DKPP assesses Ummi Wahyuni as Chairman of the Provincial KPU, as proven in a WhatsApp conversation to take down live streaming videos. Ummi proved dishonest and transparent, so her rebuttal answer could not convince DKPP. Ummi was sentenced to violate the code of ethics of holding elections.

However, the West Java General Election Commission (KPU) has not issued an official statement regarding the news of the dismissal of West Java KPU Chairman Ummi Wahyuni from his position, today.

Confirmation via WhatsApp connection to Ummi Wahyuni has been made, but there has been no response to this decision.
