Prabowo And Jokowi Solidity Become Personal Challenges After KIM Masters Key Areas In Java

JAKARTA UIN political observer Walisongo Semarang, Kholidul Adib assessed that the governments of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka will benefit after the gubernatorial election of four key areas in Java was won by a candidate pair promoted by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).

"The Prabowo-Gibran government will certainly find it easier to execute national-scale programs after many candidate pairs are promoted by KIM to win in the 2024 Pilkada," he said, Sunday, December 1, 2024.

According to him, the dominance of KIM in a number of strategic regional elections in Java will facilitate Prabowo's work in the future. This is because central and regional coordination will be much smoother if regional heads come from KIM. This is in accordance with Prabowo's own wishes to ensure maximum coordination and work between the center and the regions.

However, Kholidul hopes that KIM's dominance in Java will not slip into forms of centralization of power. In addition, he also hopes that all government programs will be felt by the community, regardless of whether the elected regional head comes from KIM or not.

On the other hand, the candidate pair victory carried by KIM in West Java, Banten, Central Java and East Java also poses their own challenges related to the relationship between Prabowo and Joko Widodo.

By controlling key areas in Java, Prabowo Gibran's power can be safer until 2029. However, the challenge is whether Prabowo 'Gibran (Jokowi) can solidly survive until 2029? Don't let it be only two years, it's been tenuous," said Kholidul.
