JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid said that the preachers played an important role in efforts to combat online gambling practices.
"The preachers have an important role in providing enlightenment to the people about the dangers of online gambling, both from religious, moral, and social aspects," he said as quoted in an official statement from the ministry in Jakarta, Sunday.
At the 2024 MUI Grand Da'i Standardization Graduation event in North Jakarta, Saturday (30/11), he invited preachers from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to actively participate in efforts to fight online gambling through their da'wah.
Meutya said that the preachers played an important role in efforts to build people's moral awareness about the dangers of online gambling.
