Habiburokhman Says There Are Members Of The DPR Reported To MKD Due To Spreading 'Brown Party' Hoaxes In The Pilkada

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, said that a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives was reported to the Honorary Court of the Council (MKD), because it was considered spreading hoaxes about the Chocolate Party, aka police officers who participated in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.

However, he did not reveal the name of the DPR member in question.

"What was conveyed by a handful of people regarding the parcok (brown party) and so on was that we categorized it as a hoax," said Habiburokhman, quoted on Saturday, November 30.

"There were also members of the DPR who conveyed it, and the person had even been reported to the MKD because I am also a member of the MKD," he continued.

Habiburokhman said the MKD would summon the person concerned to ask for information regarding the Chocolate Party.

According to him, his statement must be proven by facts, not just narratives.

It's just that, he continued, MKD has its own mechanism for members who are suspected of making statements without being based on evidence.

"If the DPR members are legally immune, but in MKD we have a mechanism so that every statement does not have the nuance of slander," he said.

Therefore, Habiburokhman reminded fellow members of the DPR not to just talk if they don't have proof of facts.

"Forging the immunity of members of the DPR, it is not legally questioned but can be questioned in the MKD," he concluded.
