KPPS Members Who Died While On Duty In Karawang Receive Compensation Of IDR 42 Million

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Karawang Regency, West Java confirmed that a member of the polling group (KPPS) who died received compensation of Rp. 42 million.

"Suhendi, a member of the KPPS who served at TPS 09 Cibuaya Village, Cibuaya District, died while on duty. We express our condolences," said KPU Karawang chairman Mari Fitriana, in Karawang, Antara, Friday, November 29.

He also said that the family left behind would be given fortitude. Suhendi died while carrying out his duties as a member of the KPPS at TPS 09 Cibuaya Village. The deceased was suspected of having a heart attack.

It was stated that the deceased, who works as a teacher, had complained of not feeling well during the vote recapitulation process on Wednesday, November 27 afternoon.

"So while on duty on voting day and vote counting, Wednesday (27/11), the deceased complained of experiencing cold sweat, not feeling well. The complaint was submitted to his fellow KPPS colleagues," he said.

Then the deceased was taken to the Cibuaya Health Center for examination. At that time the deceased looked good, but a few years later experienced cold sweat and his heart was racing.

"At that time it was also immediately checked, then referred to Hastien Rengasdengklok Hospital. However, when he arrived at the hospital, the victim was declared dead. The deceased died while on his way to the hospital," he said.

Let's convey, before voting day, the deceased did not convey any complaints regarding his health at all.

Likewise, from the results of the medical test during the previous KPPS recruitment process, the deceased was declared healthy and did not have any history of illness.

"There were no previous complaints, it's just that maybe the preparation process is too tired, lacks rest. So it's beyond our control as humans," he said.

Let's ensure that the KPPS officer who died will receive compensation of Rp. 42 million. This is in accordance with the cooperation agreement that has been stated between the Karawang KPU and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
