KPK Hopes A Competition With A Prize Of IDR 8 Billion Makes People Participate In Searching For Harun Masiku

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appreciates the steps taken by the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait to hold a competition to find a fugitive in a corruption case, Harun Masiku. It is hoped that the prize of Rp. 8 billion can make the public interested in helping the search.

"Hopefully in the near future many will be interested in this competition and many will be more aware of the environment," said KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur Rahayu at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, November 28.

"And maybe so far (the community, ed) is not very interested in HMn's brother now so he is more interested. This means that he can provide information to us," he continued.

Asep considers this competition as a moral support and can have a positive impact. Moreover, the KPK has since confirmed that Harun Masiku's search will continue.

"We certainly really appreciate what the Minister said because we are currently looking for HM's brother," he said.

Maruarar Sirait's statement about the competition was also busy after a 1 minute 21 video circulated on social media X. The former PDI-P politician (PDIP) initially offended PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto who admitted to sending his father's book, Sabam Sirait with the title 'Political It's Holy'.

"I haven't received the 'Political' book yet. Please, we accept it, from Mas Hasto and I am very happy if I can get it and make me more enthusiastic," said Maruarar in the video.

Maruarar said the book would certainly ignite his enthusiasm. One of them is to move the network to find Harun Masiku, who is still at large.

"And I also do, I will use energy to help and move my network, for example, there is one big case that I see will involve big people in this republic, which concerns Harun Masiku," he said.

"Who is Harun Masiku, how come he hasn't been arrested for years, huh. I will give a bonus for those who can catch Harun Masiku, IDR 8 billion in my personal money. Yes, so that enthusiasm, so that in this country who are above the law, and I use the blessings of God to eradicate corruption in Indonesia," said Maruarar.
