4 Team Sukses Paslon Pilbup Coal North Sumatra Caught Playing Political Money Arrested

JAKARTA - The police arrested four members of the success team for the candidate pair (paslon) for the 2024 Coal Regent Election.

The four of them were caught red-handed doing money politics in Sentang Hamlet, Nibung Hangus District, Batu Bara, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).

"The fourth has the initials MY, MS, MN, and RO are currently at the Coal Resort Police to undergo further investigation," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) Kombes Pol Hadi Wahyudi in Medan, Thursday, November 28, confiscated by Antara.

Hadi said the four successful teams that were secured carried out money politics on Wednesday, November 27 in the early hours of the 2024 Pilkada voting.

Based on the results of the examination, the four people who were arrested were given a number of envelopes containing money and a picture card of one of the candidate pairs suspected of being distributed ahead of the voting.

"The four admitted to receiving a number of envelopes containing money and a picture card from one of the candidate pairs they allegedly carried out money politics to the public," said Hadi.

Wahyudi said that currently the four of them are still undergoing further investigation.

"The evidence was confiscated in the form of hundreds of envelopes containing money and a picture card from the candidate pair," said Hadi.

The four perpetrators are threatened with suspicion of Article 187 A of Law Number 10 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 1 of 2015 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2014 concerning the Election of Governors, Regents and Mayors into Law.

Previously, the Law Enforcement Team of Humbang Hasundutan Regency also arrested three suspected money politics players in Sigulok Village, Sijama Poleng District.

The three had the initials RN (42), HP (25), RH 45, which allegedly distributed money to influence residents to choose one of the candidate pairs.

Hadi said the arrests were made when the Gakkumdu team suspected activities at a resident's house in Sijima Poleng District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency.

After being examined by officers at the house on Sunday, November 24, a bag containing an envelope of money was found, a sticker of a candidate pair, and data on residents suspected of receiving money.
