DKI Jakarta Political Anti-Money Task Force Deploys 10 Thousand Members To Supervise Pilkada

JAKARTA A number of community organizations (ormas), namely FBR, Forkabi, and 234 SC, have formed a Political Anti-Money Task Force (Satgas) to oversee the implementation of the DKI Jakarta Pilkada. This task force has been active since Friday, November 22.

The Daily Head of the Political Anti-Money Task Force, Gunawan Setiadi, explained that the formation of this task force aims to prevent the practice of money politics ahead of and during the voting day for the DKI Jakarta Regional Election.

"We will deploy 10,000 members who are deployed to various points in all urban villages in Jakarta, even to polling stations during voting," Gunawan told reporters in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Tuesday, November 26.

Gunawan detailed that every kelurahan in Jakarta will be guarded by around 100 members of the Task Force. With a total of 264 urban villages, his party seeks to carry out comprehensive supervision to detect and prevent political money practices.

"We will comb each kelurahan one by one to ensure there are no violations," he said.

During the first few operational days, the Task Force claimed to have found a number of political practices of money, both in the form of cash and basic necessities. Gunawan also said there were indications of using government facilities for covert campaign activities.

Another finding is visits to certain communities, such as recitation mothers, which we suspect were made to influence votes, he added.

However, Gunawan was reluctant to reveal which candidate pair (paslon) was suspected of committing the violation.

"We have reported these findings to Panwaslu and the police. Currently being processed. The most we found was in densely populated residential areas, such as flats (Rusunawa) and villages," he said.

He emphasized that his party will continue to monitor and oversee the Pilkada process so that it runs clean and fair. "We want to ensure that democracy in DKI Jakarta is free from money politics," he concluded.
