The Attorney General's Office Is Optimistic That Judge Rejects Tom Lembong's Pretrial Lawsuit

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) believes that the judge will reject the pretrial lawsuit of the former Minister of Trade, Thomas Trikasih Lembong or Tom Lembong regarding the alleged corruption case of sugar palm.

This is because all law enforcement processes, from investigations to investigations, are carried out according to the rules.

"I have said that we must be optimistic because what we have been doing so far is in accordance with the applicable procedural law," said Head of the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar, to reporters, Tuesday, November 26.

This has been proven during the trial process. Investigators have submitted documents related to the handling of cases of alleged corruption in sugar imports.

"The police are investigating the investigation process until the determination of the suspect and the investigator's actions make arrests. All of this has been conveyed in court," he said.

Not only documents, investigators have also presented witnesses and experts at the trial to provide their statements. So, everything has explained that there are no violations in the case handling process.

"Later we will see how the judges consider the facts, of course they are witnesses, there are experts who have all been examined, there are documents, and they have been in their respective conclusions," said Harli.

Meanwhile, the sole judge of the South Jakarta District Court will read out the verdict on Tom Lembong's pretrial lawsuit this afternoon.

Tom Lembong was supposed to sue the process of determining the suspect and detention in the alleged corruption case of sugar imports. Because, it is considered invalid and has no binding legal force.
