DPR Asks The World To Obey International Courts Issued Netanyahu's Arrest Letter

JAKARTA - The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, Palestine. The House of Representatives' Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) asked global countries to comply with the decision.

"The ICC Bravo which has enforced the values of justice and truth is a guide in fighting for the freedom of Palestinians who are currently on humanitarian issues," said Chairman of the DPR BKSAP, Mardani Ali Sera, Monday, November 23.

Apart from Benjamin Netanyahu, the ICC also issued arrest warrants for former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and senior member Hamas Muhammad Deif. The international criminal court considered the three people responsible for war crimes related to Gaza.

The ICC also believes that Netanyahu also bears responsibility for hunger as a method of war, and crimes against humanity in the form of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts.

According to Mardani, the ICC decision is a firm and deterrent effect for Israel, which continues to violate UN peace laws.

The decision at least limits the movement of Israeli PM abroad as well as puts international pressure on it. We continue to pray and believe that peace will soon be reached in the Middle East," he said.

Mardani said the ICC decision would add to the fighting spirit of those who voiced a ceasefire. Including the DPR which continues to make various efforts for Palestinian independence.

"We will not remain silent and will continue to voice Palestinian independence and for Israel to hold a ceasefire. With the decision to arrest the Israeli Prime Minister, it is like a tit for tat against peace efforts that the international community continues to make," explained Mardani.

Israel's attacks on Palestine are known to have never stopped in the past year. Even Israeli military attacks across the Gaza Strip on Saturday (23/11) have killed at least 120 Palestinians in the last 48 hours.

Israel attacked a hospital in northern Gaza and injured medical staff. The attack coincided with an increase in Israeli troop invasions and bombings in the northern region of Gaza.

Mardani said what Israel was doing was beyond the limits of enthusiasm for killing thousands of civilians.

Israel's heinous actions must be followed by effective sanctions. There is no tolerance for actions that violate human rights," said the member of Commission II of the DPR RI.

Mardani pun mendorong negara-negara global untuk mendukung keputusan ICC yang sesuai dengan aturan PBB. Keputusan ICC diketahui mendapat penolakan dari negara mitra Israel.

"We urge the international community to unite and support law enforcement efforts against Israel and its leaders that have caused suffering to thousands of Palestinians, including residents in Lebanon and its surroundings," said Mardani.

Mardani reminded the international community that Israel had killed more than 44,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 104,000 people. Israel is also involved in a cross-border war with Lebanon by launching an air campaign at the end of September against what they claim was Hezbollah's target.

Through BKSAP, the DPR RI is committed to continuing to support justice and humanity for Palestine. BKSAP serves as a bridge to encourage concrete actions at the international level, "said Mardani.

According to Mardani, the ICC decision must be a starting point to jointly fight for the sake of upholding the law and justice for all, especially for the Palestinian people who are entitled to freedom and dignity.

"So once again I say, I kick you out of Israel from the United Nations because the genocide carried out by the Israeli military continues and before more victims fall," he said.

"All UN member states must respect sovereignty, the prohibition of the use of violence, and the settlement of disputes peacefully in accordance with UN resolutions," continued Mardani.
