Minister Of Manpower: Formula UMP 2025 Is Still Being Discussed, Inflation Is A Consideration

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli stated that the 2025 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) formula is still in the discussion stage by considering various variables, including inflation.

This statement was made by the Minister of Manpower Yussierli at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, after attending a limited meeting (ratas) with President Prabowo Subianto.

"It could be yes, maybe yes. It means, we make it a consideration," said Minister of Manpower Yassierli answering whether inflation was a variable consideration for the 2025 UMP formula reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 25.

The Minister of Manpower explained that input from various parties, both workers and entrepreneurs, was also discussed in the preparation of the UMP2025 formula which is now rolling intensively.

Including, the aspirations of the workers so that the 2025 UMP policy is determined in accordance with the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) Number: 168/PUU-XXI/2023.

The Constitutional Court's decision to cancel a number of norms in the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Law related to wages and mandate the determination of the minimum wage based on inflation, economic growth, and certain indexes (minors), without discrimination in the industrial sector.

"The aspirations of workers and entrepreneurs, we try to understand to find the right formula," said the Minister of Manpower.

Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that the final formula will continue to follow the direction of the President and the Constitutional Court's decision, including the handover of sectoral wage discussions to the National Wage Council (Depenas).

"We are aware that there are companies that are experiencing financial difficulties, financial difficulties. We formulate this in a regulatory manner, legally what the draft sounds like, right there we have to be careful," said the Minister of Manpower.

Regarding the timing of the announcement, the Minister of Manpower, Yoassierli, asked the public to be patient. The Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) promised that the 2025 UMP formula would be completed in the near future.

"Just wait, I have a target by the end of this month, then early next month," said the Minister of Manpower, Yussierli.
