South Korean Intelligence Says 11 Thousand North Korean Soldiers Have Been Deployed To The Russian Kursk

JAKARTA - Nearly 11,000 North Korean troops are believed to have been deployed to the Kursk region, Russia. Some of them were involved in the battle against Ukraine.

South Korea's National Intelligence Agency (NIS) said it was still assessing the number of North Korean troops and details of their operations, according to lawmakers Lee Seong-kweun and Park Sun-won, who were briefed by NIS.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously said the number of North Korean troops prepared to deploy to Russia may have increased to 100,000 troops.

Pyongyang forces received tactical response training and drones from Russian air cross-air and marine units, NIS said.

North Korea is said to be sending more war supplies to Russia. This includes long-range artillery, including howitzer self-propelled and multiple rocket launchers, in addition to the bullets and missiles Pyongyang has provided, the spy agency said.

NIS said North Korea might deploy additional personnel to maintain the weapons and provide additional training for Russian troops who are unfamiliar with some of the new weapons.
