BKSAP Chairman Mardani Asks The UN To Kick Out Israel

JAKARTA - Chairman of the House of Representatives' Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) Mardani Ali Sera called for the United Nations (UN) to kick Israel out of its membership. The House of Representatives also agreed that Israel should be suppressed by being isolated from the international community because of its violence that continues to carry out violent acts.

"The kick out of Israel from the United Nations because the genocide carried out by the Israeli military continues and more victims fall," said Mardani Ali Sera, Thursday, November 14.

Apart from the Gaza Strip, Palestine, Israel also continues to cause an escalating escalation in the Middle East by launching attacks on a number of countries such as Lebanon and Syria. Israel's Genocide in Gaza itself has killed at least 43,665 Palestinians and injured 103,076 people since October 7, 2023.

In Lebanon, there were 3,243 people killed and 14,134 injured as a result of Israeli attacks since the war in Gaza began. Not a few people were killed and injured as a result of Israeli attacks in Syria.

Israel's latest onslaught in Gaza since last weekend has killed dozens of people, including killing children who want to play soccer. Mardani stated that Israel had clearly violated the UN Charter which was based on peace and human values. The opening of the UN Charter affirms the commitment of UN member countries to prevent war, respect human rights, maintain international justice and law, and improve the welfare of the world's social and economics.

"In Article I of the UN Charter, it has been firmly stated that the main objective of the United Nations to be formed is to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations between nations, achieve international cooperation in solving international problems, and become the center of aligning the actions of nations," said Mardani.

The basic principles of the United Nations must be followed by member states, including respect for sovereignty, a ban on the use of violence, and a peaceful settlement of disputes. Mardani said Israel did not carry out these principles.

"And all of that was violated by Israel, which continued to use violence, which made many civilians victims," he said.

"So the UN should firmly expel Israel, and we agree that Israel will be under pressure by being isolated from the international community," added Mardani.

According to Mardani, the DPR's steps have strengthened the diplomacy carried out by the Government. Including President Prabowo Subianto's efforts to raise the Palestinian issue when meeting with the President of the United States (US), Joe Biden, recently.

In the meeting held at the White House, Washington DC, Prabowo and Biden expressed deep concern over the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, and condemned all attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure. The two leaders also urged a ceasefire and ended the conflict in Gaza.

"The efforts of the DPR and the Government in supporting Palestinian independence are the embodiment of Indonesia's noble ideals to help create world peace," explained Mardani.

"We certainly appreciate President Prabowo who brought the Palestinian issue when he met the US President, Joe Biden, as the leader of one of the superpowers," he continued.

Mardani reminded that Indonesia is a country whose constitution regulates the importance of this country participating in world peace. For this reason, he considered that it was the obligation of all elements of the Indonesian nation in encouraging and seeking to stop the war and violence carried out by Israel.

"And the proclaimer and first President of Indonesia, Ir Sukarno once said Palestine is our constitutional debt. So our steps are important, especially since Palestine is one of the first countries to recognize Indonesian independence," concluded Mardani.
