AGO-KY Coordination On Judges Involved In Crimes

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) and the Judicial Commission (KY) held a coordination meeting regarding the handling of a case involving judges, including three judges at the Surabaya District Court who were involved in the alleged bribery and gratification of Ronald Tannur's acquittal.

Ketua KY, Amzulian Rifai, menyebut salah satu yang menjadi fokus pembicaraan dalam rapat yakni teknis penindakan terhadap hakim yang melanggar pidana.

Because, during the investigation of alleged ethical violations, it is not uncommon for a series of examinations to find criminal elements committed by suspected violators.

"At that time we felt a crime, our authority did not end there. So in this coordination meeting with the Attorney General, we conveyed the follow-up to the examination regarding the crime," Amzulian told reporters, Tuesday, November 12.

Then, the AGO is also said to be willing to follow up on the findings of KY regarding criminal violations committed by unscrupulous judges.

"Pak Jaka Agung is pleased to follow up later if there are criminal matters that will of course be technically discussed by our team further," he said.

In addition, the coordination also discussed three judges from the Surabaya District Court who were suspected of accepting bribes.

According to him, KY will propose the formation of the Honorary Council of Judges (MKH) to the Supreme Court (MA). So, the three judges can immediately be sanctioned for dismissal.

"Well, indeed the process of being fired was formed by the MKH, the Honorary Council of Judges. The MKH could be formed at the suggestion of the Judicial Commission for a judge who would be fired, or at the suggestion of the Supreme Court," he said.

Meanwhile, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin said that his party was investigating all allegations if there was sufficient preliminary evidence.

"Of course what was said, we will see what was said. Of course, if it is all with a statement that is indeed accurate, we will investigate it," said Burhanuddin.
