The Election Of Capim And The KPK Council Is Called To Be Proof Of Prabowo's Commitment To Eradicating Corruption

JAKARTA - Indonesia Calling (IM) 57+ Institute said the selection of candidates for leadership and supervisory board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was a place to prove President Prabowo Subianto's commitment. Thus, the process of testing the feasibility and propriety or fit and proper test at the DPR RI should not be infiltrated with political interests.

"Sia-sia when the DPR and the president place narrow political interests far above public interests and concerns over the destruction of the work of eradicating corruption," said Chairman of the IM 57+ Institute, Praswad Nugraha in a statement quoted on Tuesday, November 12.

Praswad said Prabowo as president often expressed his frustration with corruption. This attitude is expected not just rhetoric.

"On various occasions, the president has expressed his frustration over corruption. It's time to eradicate corruption, not just become rhetoric," he said.

"The selection of the KPK leadership is clear and concrete evidence if you want to return to the real work of eradicating corruption. It is time for the message of sincerity to be conveyed to the public with concrete actions," continued Praswad.

As previously reported, Coordinating Minister for Kumham Imipas Yusril Ihza Mahendra said President Prabowo Subianto approved the names of 10 candidates and supervisory boards of the KPK proposed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

The ten names are Agus Joko Pramono, Ahmad Alamsyah Saragih, Djoko Poerwanto, Fitroh Rohcahyanto, Ibnu Basuki Widodo, Ida Budhiati, Johanis Tanak, Michael Rolandi Cesnanta Brata, Poengky indarti, and Setyo Budiyanto.

"The DPR is welcome to process these names to choose five names so that they are determined by the president," said Yusril as confirmed in Jakarta, Friday, November 8, which was confiscated by ANTARA.

Regarding this attitude, the KPK hopes that the DPR RI will choose the best person through a fit and proper test. The name of the results of the selection committee (pansel) in the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is said to be the best.

"KPK hopes to be elected the best KPK leaders and Councils from these candidates whose names have entered the DPR RI now," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters quoted on Monday, November 11.
