Attorney General In Queretaro Mexico Says 4 People Entered The Bar And Shooted To Death 10 People

JAKARTA - Seven men and three women were killed in a shooting incident at a bar in central Mexico's Queretaro state, Saturday night. The state attorney general said four men entered the bar and opened fire.

Quoted from Reuters, Sunday, November 10, seven other people were injured. One person has been detained by the police.

Investigators were at the scene and also looked into the vehicle believed to be related to the incident.

Queretaro is usually not vulnerable to high-level violent crimes, such as murder, and is considered relatively safer than many other regions in Mexico.

"I reiterate to the people of Queretaro that there will be penalties for those responsible for this brutal act, we will continue to close our borders and maintain the security of our country," Queretaro governor Mauricio Kuri told X.

Mexico is facing a security crisis linked to organized crimes and a warring faction of drug cartels that is one of Mexico's most pressing challenges for new Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

There have been 2,788 murder cases in the country since its inauguration on October 1, according to a Treearch poll analysis of government data.

Sheinbaum has pledged to crack down on violent crimes and launch security plans aimed at increasing opportunities for vulnerable young people, increasing intelligence sharing among government agencies and increasing the country's National Guard.
