The Central Java Regional Police's Cyber Directorate took action against three internet cafes in Kaliwungu, Kendal Regency, regarding allegations of providing access for online gamblers to access websites that have been blocked by the government.
Central Java Police Cyber Director Kombes Himawan Sutanto Saragih said the three internet cafes provided private network (VPN) virtual services to access gambling pages that have been blocked by the Government.

The three people who are owners and technicians at the three internet cafes, said Himawan, were named suspects. The three were charged with Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE).
From the location, the police also secured a number of evidences such as computers, modems, routers, and internet network devices in three internet cafes.
Himawan emphasized that the police will continue to monitor deviant activities in cyberspace, especially those related to illicit content such as online gambling.
