Gerindra Reveals Prabowo and SBY Meeting in Cikeas Discussed Establishment of Investment Institution

JAKARTA - Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad revealed the meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java yesterday. Prabowo is said to have asked for SBY's advice regarding the formation of an investment institution.

"Mr. Prabowo held a meeting with Mr. SBY to discuss, among other things, the formation of an investment institution that will be formed. Because Mr. SBY has 10 years of experience leading the Republic of Indonesia, of course as friends and companions, it is normal to exchange ideas," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 5.

However, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR was reluctant to talk further about the investment institution in question. According to him, the authority to talk about the plan lies with the government.

"Yes, later, let it be later, that is not my authority, I am in the legislature, let the executive explain later," said Dasco.

When asked whether the investment institution would be outside the function of the economic council, Dasco asked to ask the government.

"We'll ask the government later," he said firmly.

When asked about the meeting discussing the presidential advisory council (Wantimpres), Dasco admitted that he did not know anything.

"I don't know, I don't know," he concluded.

Previously reported, the General Chairperson of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that President Prabowo Subianto and the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) held a closed meeting in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java.

AHY said that the agenda was a meeting between two friends who support and strengthen each other.

"Everyone is gathered here, Mr. SBY is having dinner with the President in Cikeas," said AHY as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 4.

AHY said that the two of them only wanted to talk to each other and exchange ideas and he did not know more about the topic of discussion in the meeting. This is because both of them are figures who have been friends for decades and always want to serve the nation and state.

"I am always touched by their friendship that has been going on for decades and they both want to complete their service," said the man who is also the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development.

AHY hopes that communication and friendship between the two can continue to be established, because it is a good example for the future.
