No Grand Campaign At JIS Due To Access To Difficult Roads, Doel: Poor Mothers

JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta number 3, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno will hold a second grand campaign at the Bung Karno Intermediate Stadium (GBK) on November 23.

Pramono-Rano previously held the first grand campaign at the Jakarta International Velodrome.

Meanwhile, the KPU only limits grand campaign activities twice during the 2024 Pilkada. Thus, the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) is not the choice of Pramono-Rano's grand campaign location.

Rano then explained the reason. JIS, according to Rano, is indeed a qualified stadium to gather with large numbers of people. However, until now the difficulty of accessing roads at JIS is still being complained about.

The soap opera actor Si Doel Anak Sekolahan is worried that there will be a buildup of vehicles to long traffic jams around JIS if a grand campaign is held.

"This means that we understand the situation at JIS, right. The location is ideal, but transportation there (difficult), sorry for mothers. Especially if we watch shows, maybe okay. We consider many mothers, many children, then what are the names of many gen Z," said Rano at the Senayan East Parking, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 4.

Therefore, Pramono emphasized that he would continue to improve infrastructure such as road access and public transportation facilities around the stadium that was built in the era of former DKI Governor Anies Baswedan if he won the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

"That's why I propose JIS to repair transportation, because it's not perfect. Mas Anies has only been for one period. I'm sure that this is my period, it will definitely be finished," explained Pramono.

Previously, in the first grand campaign on November 3, Rano revealed that the activity was arguably a "heating" for the second grand campaign on the last day of the campaign period.

"If we look at it, now the capacity only accommodates 7,000 supporters. God willing, tomorrow (the second grand campaign) could be more than that," said Rano at Velodrome, November 3.

Rano explained that choosing the GBK Intermediate Stadium was the location of the second campaign because it was believed that many gen Z voters would attend. This is because he wants to steal the hearts of gen Z voters, considering that many of the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada voters are also from the Z gene circles.

"I said 'Mas, we have to make (the grand campaign) twice'. Why? We really understand, this is a process, Gen Z must be initiated. This, who is here, all of Gen Z, is indeed impossible to be accommodated. Therefore, we will make the second one later at the Madya Stadium in GBK," he added.
