Free Private School Program In Jakarta Still Under Study

JAKARTA - The free private school program in DKI Jakarta is still in the assessment stage by the Education Office regarding its implementation and regulations.

"The Education Office is conducting an in-depth assessment and currently preparing regulations are needed," said Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office (Disdik) Purwosisilo, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 4. Regarding the details of the rules, his party will first complete the regulations, namely regional regulations (perda).

"Because Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2006 needs to be revised, adjusted to the current conditions," he said.

After the regional regulation is complete, a derivative regulation will be made, namely the governor's regulation (pergub). Then, the Education Office still needs to disseminate information to schools and parties that manage private schools and the wider community.

Purwosusilo said the free school program process was still quite long and was being prepared so that it could be carried out well in the future.

However, in principle, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) is present in the community to ensure that all Jakarta residents, especially school age, can get complete and quality educational services.

"Because the background of this program was created because of private schools that also detained student diplomas because they had not paid tuition fees, exkul money, activity fees and so on," he said.

In addition, Purwosusilo said that there are still children dropping out of school in Jakarta, especially due to economic problems. Therefore, the purpose and purpose of this program is to accelerate the fulfillment of access to education in DKI Jakarta.

Then this program also aims to reduce social inequality, increase the level of education participation and fulfill children's right to education.

In addition, to improve the quality of measurable education so that Jakarta's goal to improve access and quality of education for all people can be achieved.
