Abraham Samad Suggests Prabowo Repeat The KPK Capim Selection Process

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is advised to reshape the Selection Committee for KPK Leadership Candidates (Pansel Capim). Former Chairman of the KPK Abraham Samad assessed that this method could be done if the name that had now been submitted was deemed less capable.

The 10 names of candidates for KPK leadership are currently at the desk of the Speaker of the DPR, Puan Maharani. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had submitted before he stepped down from his position and was replaced by Prabowo Subianto.

"Even if we see that among these 10 people we cannot be expected, we encourage the government, because this has rules, that the government can annull. It can re-pansel and re-selection for potential leaders," Abraham told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 31.

"It's not too late if we want to produce credible KPK leaders," he continued.

Abraham said the remaining two months until next December would not be an obstacle. It all depends on the government's intention.

"If the government has a strong desire and sees that there is a condition, after tracing, it turns out that these 10 people cannot be expected optimally, then they can form a new pandemic," said Abraham.

As previously reported, the President at that time, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had sent 10 names of candidates for leadership and 10 names of candidates for the KPK supervisory board to the DPR RI. Furthermore, they will carry out a fit and proper test.
