LHKPN Lacks Greget, MAKI Encourages The DPR To Pass The Bill On Asset Confiscation And Limiting Cartal Money

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) has urged the draft Law (RUU) on Asset Confiscation and Currency Restrictions to be discussed and ratified by the DPR RI.

The findings of Rp1 trillion and gold at the house of former Supreme Court (MA) official Zarof Ricar should be an example according to MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman.

This is because the suspect in the bribery case in the case of Gregorius Ronald Tannur carried out his actions using cash so that he did not need to submit a state administrator's wealth report (LHKPN).

"The law (related to, red) reporting the assets of state officials that have been taken care of by the KPK is still passed, right, IDR 1 trillion. It was not found out. Because what was reported was only (hadanya, ed) which was Rp. 50 billion. Rp. 1 trillion was outside (reported, ed)," Boyamin told reporters, Thursday, October 31.

"This shows how weak our system is about wealth reports," he continued.

Thus, Boyamin believes it is time for the Asset Confiscation Bill to be passed. "This includes restrictions on cash transactions," he said.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asked the DPR to discuss restrictions on cash transactions or cash. KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika said this policy was necessary after the Attorney General's Office found Rp1 trillion and gold at the house of former Supreme Court (MA) official Zarof Ricar.

"KPK emphasizes the importance of discussing the Bill on Asset Confiscation and Limitation of Kartal Money so that it can be discussed by representatives of the people in the DPR," Tessa told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, October 29.

"As we both know that apart from the Asset Confiscation Bill, we also encourage the Draft Law on Currency Restrictions in the DPR," he continued.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI Bob Hasan said that the Bill on Limiting Kartal Money had not been submitted to the proposed national legislation program (prolegnas). However, the opportunity for the regulation is open because the preparation will run until November 28.

"I haven't seen it in the composition of the prolegnas. (But, ed) you see, we are programming it until the 28th (November, ed) of the preparation of this prolegnas," said Bob at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 30.

Until the deadline, the Legislative Council of the Republic of Indonesia will continue to absorb input from all parties. Including from stakeholders or stakeholders to non-governmental organizations.

"So hopefully I myself will hold it as the chairman of the committee. Then I can answer later when it is discussed. Everything can only be answered, is there this (RUU), that's it," said Bob.
