Former Republic Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Supports Democratic Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris

JAKARTA - Match film star and former California Governor of the Republic Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday provided his support for Democratic candidate for president Kamala Harris, saying "I will always be an American before I become a Republican."

The "Terminator" star said he was offended by Republicans who refused to admit Donald Trump's defeat in the 2020 general election, as well as the Republican candidate's statement that America is "like a trash can for the whole world."

As governor, Schwarzenegger said he learned to "understand policy and hate politics" and added "I hate politics more than ever," told Reuters Oct. 31.

He also said "I don't like the two parties at the moment," arguing both would not address the US budget deficit, and that some Democratic policies led to an increase in crime.

"I want to stop," Schwarzenegger wrote.

"But I can't," he continued.

"Because rejecting the election results is something that is not America." Calling America a " trash bag for the world is a very unpatriotic thing, it makes me angry," he added.

"And I will always be an American before I become a Republican," Schwarzenegger said.

"That's why, this week, I chose Kamala Harris and Tim Walz," he said.

Trump made comments about the " trash bag" when criticizing the handling of President Joe Biden's administration and Vice President Kamala Harris over the US-Mexico border, saying law enforcement is so loose that other countries can "throw away people they don't want" in the United States.

Schwarzenegger himself migrated to the US from Austria and built a successful bodybuilding career, before starring in famous 1980s films such as "Conan the Barbarian," "Theten" and "Predator." He served as Governor of the State of California from 2003 to 2011.

It is known that Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will compete in the US Presidential Election which will be held next Tuesday.
