JAKARTA - The pair of the Banten Pilgub Airin Rachmi Diany-Ade Sumardi and the Pilbup Pair of Serang Regency Andika Hazrumy' Nanang Supriatna were reported to the Banten Province Bawaslu regarding alleged campaign violations in Islamic boarding schools where places of worship and educational areas.

The reporter for the alleged campaign violation, Dekardo Manalu, a resident of Serang Banten, said that there were at least three articles in KPU Regulation No. 13 of 2024 which were allegedly violated by the reported parties, namely article 57 paragraph 1, Article 64 paragraph 1 letter c and Article 65 paragraph 1 letter d.

Manalu said, there were at least three articles (allegedly) violated by KPU Regulation No. 13 of 2024. namely article 57 paragraph 1, which clearly prohibits campaigns in places of worship and education.

Then article 64 paragraph 1, concerning the prohibition of installing banners of campaign materials at educational places.

"Also Article 65 paragraph 1 letter d concerning the prohibition of installing attributes or campaign props at educational places," Manalu said in his statement, Wednesday, October 30.

Furthermore, Manalu said that in addition to violating existing regulations, campaign activities in places of worship and educational areas could endanger unity and set a bad example in politics and this is also proof that there is still religious politicization in Indonesia.

"We assess that the campaign carried out by Paslon Airin-Ade and Andika-Nanang in the Ashabul Maimanah Islamic Boarding School area is not only a matter of violating the rules, but rather a fundamental thing. This could endanger the unity of the community, it is also clear that this is a bad example in politics," he concluded.
