Kemendikbud Says There Are 3 Million New Quota Subsidy Recipients

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) said there are three million new quota subsidy recipients in April 2021.

"In March, we have distributed internet quota assistance to 27 million recipients," said Acting Head of Data and Information Technology Center of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) Muhammad Hasan Chabibie, in Jakarta, reported antara, Wednesday, April 7.

As a result of the re-data collection conducted by the Ministry of Education, there is an additional three million new quota recipients, who will get quota assistance in April.

"So a total of about 30 million internet quota assistance will be distributed this April," he said.

The addition of the quota is from matching data with mobile phone numbers that are active in mobile operators and also evaluation results from the use of previous assistance internet quota, whose use under 1 GB no longer gets quota assistance.

Hasan added that although a number of regions have conducted limited face-to-face learning, it still provides internet quota assistance. The quota assistance is expected to be used to bridge distance learning with face-to-face learning.

"New face-to-face learning is done on a limited basis and distance learning is still organized. Therefore, the quota assistance is still needed," he said.

Not only the government, the private sector also helped students learn during the pandemic. One of them is through #bodrexMerahPutihBerbagi program.

General Manager of Brand Communication & Content pt Tempo Scan Pacific Tbk Audrey Y Gandadjaja said through the program it provides gadget assistance and internet quota assistance.

"This is our contribution in helping the education sector during the COVID-19 pandemic," audrey said.

The device assistance provided will be an inventory of schools to lend to students who have limited facilities in the distance learning process as long as needed.

Selected schools get the help of smart phone packages and internet quotas that enforce the PJJ system and have students who do not have online learning facilities. Selected students take precedence in grades 3 to 6.
