From This Suspect, The AGO Can Dismantle The Source Of Ronald Tannur's Free Sentence Bribe Fund

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has made Lisa Rachmat an 'entrance' to investigate the source of funds used to bribe judges at the Surabaya District Court to impose acquittal against Gregorius Ronald Tannur. Including, the Rp5 billion which will be handed over to the Supreme Court judge.

Lisa Rachmat is known to be Ronald Tannur's lawyer. In this case, his role is in consensus to bribery.

"Now the LR, his power of attorney has been made a suspect. Later of course it will be extracted from the person concerned, where did the source of the money that was handed over and he wanted to hand it over to the relevant parties. That is the door," said Head of the AGO, Harli Siregar to VOI, Monday, October 28.

From the statements of the suspect Lisa Rachmat, and other witnesses, investigators will map out the parties involved in a series of bribery and gratification crimes.

So far, investigators have had a record of transactions related to the bribery of Ronald Tannur's acquittal. The evidence was obtained from the confiscation of the suspect Lisa Rachmat.

"Is it, for example, related to the RT (Ronald Tannur) or his family or anyone else, the investigator will see that," he said.

Harli also conveyed that the deepening of the source of funds used to bribe was important to investigate as a form of resolving the case.

Because, when it comes to legal construction, it is impossible for the money used to come from Lisa Rachmat's personal funds.

Moreover, investigators have also obtained evidence if Lisa Rachmat's bribery was carried out on an order.

"Legal logic, if he promises to go there, (admit) this is my money, we do believe it. It's not a business, it's a client's business," said Harli.

In this case, apart from Lisa Rachmat, the AGO has named four other suspects. Three of them are judges of the Surabaya District Court, namely, Erintuah Damanik, Mangapul, and Heru Hanindy.

Meanwhile, another suspect, Zarof Ricar, is a former Supreme Court official. His last position was the Head of the Legal and Judicial Research and Development and Training Agency.
