Head of the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Agency, Satriadi Gunawan, said that his party requested the addition of 25 new pump cars or fire engines in the 2025 DKI Regional Budget which are currently being prepared.

Initially, the Gulkarmat Service asked for the procurement of 35 new fire engines from the Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD) to be brought to a budget discussion meeting with the DPRD. However, the number of cars approved is only 25 units.

"What we are asking for is 25 vehicles. Well, what is certain is that we propose is around Rp. 86.35 billion," Satriadi told reporters, Sunday, October 27.

In detail, the required pump car consists of 7 units of vehicles with 2,500 liters of water storage, 12 units with 4,000 liters, and 6 units with 10,000 liters. If it is owned, the new unit will replace the fire engine belonging to the old DKI Damkar.

"The current condition is that 80 percent is in the workshop, 20 percent is still used in the post. So what we are proposing is for 2025, the pump car will be prioritized first. There are 25," said Satriadi.

Satriadi emphasized that the need for the procurement of new pump cars has indeed been urgent to be placed in village and sub-district fire posts spread across Jakarta.

"We have 170 fire stations in Jakarta. Well, you can imagine if this 170 are buying, going back again, going back and forth, finally 15 years, so finally turning around again, turning around again," explained Satriadi.

In addition, the DKI Jakarta Gulkarmat Service will also gradually add new fire posts in urban villages that do not yet have their own posts. Given, Jakarta has 267 urban villages, while currently only 170 posts are available.

"There is a plan for us next year around 5 new posts. Well, the 5 new posts need vehicles. We need units to be placed," explained Satriadi.

"In the regional regulation, one sub-district is one fire station. Now, we only have 170. So, it is still far from the target that should be to pursue response time. The more posts, the response time will be faster," he added.
