RIDO Promises To Make Cheap Markets In Each Kelurahan

JAKARTA - Candidates for governor and deputy governor of Jakarta number 1 Ridwan Kamil and Suswono (RIDO) are committed to presenting cheap markets in each kelurahan to help residents get basic necessities at affordable prices.

"We want to ensure that the price of basic necessities is stable and people's purchasing power is maintained," said Suswono while visiting Ujung Menteng Market, East Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 26.

Suswono explained that the purpose of this visit was to directly observe the economic conditions of the community and prepare the Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) pair for the second debate of the Jakarta Pilkada.

"Leaders must go directly to the community to understand their real needs," said Suswono.

During his visit, Suswono also accommodated and responded to various complaints from traders and buyers regarding the increasing food prices and decreasing people's purchasing power.

In response, Suswono introduced the RIDO program to stabilize prices for basic commodities through the management of distribution, storage, and price monitoring by Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD).

"This step is a concrete solution to maintain the availability of basic commodities at stable prices, especially in times of crisis," he said.

For information, Jakarta has 189 markets with permanent buildings. Meanwhile, Indonesia experienced a deflation of 0.18% in July 2024, reflecting a decrease in people's purchasing power due to limited consumption.

"RIDO is here to ensure that the people of Jakarta feel the real benefits of pro-people policies. We want to see better Jakarta, with a stable economy, affordable prices for basic necessities, and a more prosperous society," said Suswono.

It is hoped that this activity can strengthen RIDO's relationship with the community, as well as prepare this couple to face a second debate by prioritizing pro-people programs that answer the needs of Jakarta residents.
