The police suspect that the victim was run over by the Commuter Line train at a railroad crossing on the Kemayoran-Kampung Bandan line in Pademangan District, North Jakarta due to suicide, Friday, October 25, 2024. Because according to witnesses at the scene, before the train passed, the victim was seen lying on the train line.

"Temporary suspicion, he could commit suicide because when the train had not passed, he immediately slept on the tracks and was immediately run over," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pademangan Police, North Jakarta AKP Gede Gustiyana, Antara, Friday, October 25, 2024.

He explained that the victim was an unidentified man who was estimated to be 45 years old. The police suspect that the victim was a local resident, because he was wearing shorts. However, to confirm this, the police conducted examinations of a number of witnesses at the Pademangan Police.

"Currently, the focus is on examining witnesses and looking for their families," he said.

The victim's body was taken to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM).

"Administration is done, just waiting for the family to take the victim's body," he said.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Manager of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KAI Commuter), Leza Arlan, said officers received reports of an accident on the Kampung Bandan route at around 09.44 WIB.

"When the officers were run over, they checked the train and the Commuter Line continued its journey again," he said.

He said that according to Law Number 23 of 2007 concerning Railways in Article 124 states that in a piece of intersection between the railway and road lines, road users must prioritize train travel.
