Apart From Pahala Nainggolan, The Police Check 2 KPK Employees Regarding The Alexander Marwata-Eko Darmanto Meeting

JAKARTA - Two employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission or the KPK will be questioned by the Polda Metro Jaya regarding the investigation of the meeting of Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata with the former Head of Yogyakarta Customs, Eko Darmanto.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said the two KPK employees would be questioned Thursday, October 31.

"(Sending a summons) The two KPK employees are intended to be questioned in handling the a quo case Thursday, October 31, 2024," said Ade to VOI, Friday, October 25.

The two KPK employees were originally scheduled to provide information on Thursday, October 24. Only they were unable to attend.

Based on a letter sent by the Acting Head of the Legal Bureau of the KPK RI, it was stated that the two KPK employees were carrying out official duties. Thus, asked to postpone the examination schedule.

"Two KPK employees were not present yesterday because there was an official activity that had been scheduled beforehand," said Ade.

In investigating the alleged violation of Alex Marwata, investigators will also examine the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK Pahala Nainggolan. The inspection is scheduled for early next week.

"Pahala Nainggolan as Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK for questioning in handling the a quo case on Monday, October 28, 2024," said Ade.

Alexander Marwata is said to have met Eko Darmanto in March 2023.

During the meeting, the KPK was investigating Eko Darmanto in a case of alleged gratification and money laundering (TPPU).

The meeting was considered a violation. This is because the KPK leadership is prohibited from having direct or indirect contact with suspects or other parties who are related to corruption cases handled by the KPK.
