JAKARTA - During his trip to Beirut, Lebanon, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock accused Hezbollah of using Lebanese civilians as human shields and affirming Israel's right to self-defense.

He called for the full implementation of the United Nations Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 Hezbollah-Israeli war, as the key to ensuring peace for Israel and Lebanon. He noted that military action alone would not resolve the conflict.

Baerbock also expressed concern over the limited shipment of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and urged the Israeli government to keep its promise to provide assistance as an obligation under international law.
