The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has revealed the process of investigating the alleged bribery of three judges and one lawyer regarding Gregorius Ronald Tannur's acquittal.
It started when the three judges, Erintuah Damanik, Mangapul, and Heru Hanindyo, acquitted Ronald Tannur in the murder case of his girlfriend, Dini Sera Afriyanti.
"The arrests of the 4 suspects that I have conveyed above were not carried out suddenly. But investigators have been following for a long time, since the court's decision to release Ronald Tannur, all of which we know are polemics in the wider community," said the Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at the AGO Abdul Qohar, citing the investigation to journalists quoted on Thursday, October 24.
The suspicion of a 'game' behind the acquittal was deemed irrelevant. For example, alcohol that causes the death of Dini Sera Afrianti.
In fact, from the evidence in the form of CCTV footage and post-mortem clearly shows the presence of wounds due to tumpil violence.
Thus, the AGO began investigating by looking for evidence to prove the alleged 'game' of the acquittal.
"Then from there we carried out verification in the field behind closed doors. We found evidence that we think is strong enough that we will increase it to the investigation stage," he said.
"There we also continue to look for evidence, look for witnesses, ask for information and we are sure, assuredly, 2 pieces of evidence have been handled by investigators," continued Qohar.
Until finally, with sufficient evidence from the results of the examination of witnesses and searches, the AGO arrested and named the three judges and one lawyer on behalf of Lisa Rahmat as a suspect.
Some of the evidence used as the basis for the arrest, such as transaction records, cash, and electronic evidence.
"Of course we have strong enough evidence, what evidence will be, later in court," said Qohar.
