Retired Police Officers In Bekasi Fooled By Hundreds Of Millions To Pass Their Children IPDN Selection

BEKASI - A unfortunate fate was experienced by a retired National Police officer with the rank of AKBP with the initials ER. He admitted that he was deceived by a state civil servant (ASN) who worked at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) with the initials SP with a loss of hundreds of millions of rupiah.

ER explained that SP promised to pass his son in the selection of the Institute of Domestic Administration (IPDN). Tempted by the offer, ER handed over a down payment of IDR 15 million in May 2023.

Furthermore, ER again handed over Rp 150 million in July 2023 and Rp 50 million in August 2023, bringing the total loss to Rp 215 million.

"He persuaded my child to help. Finally I deposited money and then the money was taken away with him. It turned out that my son did not pass the test. I tried to contact him, but his cellphone was not active," said ER, Wednesday, October 23.

Feeling cheated, ER went to SP's house. However, she only met SP's wife who said her husband rarely came home. Finally, ER reported this incident to the Bekasi City Metro Police. So far there has been no significant development regarding the case.

Meanwhile, Kasatreskrim Polres Metro Bekasi Kota Kompol Audy Joize Oroh said the case was still in the process of being investigated. "It's still in the process of being investigated," said Audy.
