Budi Gunawan Enters Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet Not Representing PDIP

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Puan Maharani emphasized that none of her party cadres were included in the ranks of Prabowo-Gibran cabinet. According to Puan, the name of the former Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Budi Gunawan in Presidential Cabinet Prabowo-Gibran did not represent PDIP.

According to Puan, Budi Gunawan is a professional and is not a PDIP cadre.

Ahead of the announcement of the Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet, 48 names of ministerial candidates were circulated. Budi Gunawan's name is said to be the coordinating minister for politics and security.

"Pak Budi Gunawan is a professional," said Puan after attending the Prabowo-Gibran inauguration ceremony at the Nusantara Building, Senayan complex, Jakarta, Sunday, October 20.

Puan emphasized that PDIP will support the Prabowo-Gibran government for the next 5 years, even though there are no cadres included in the cabinet.

"Because no PDI-P cadres enter the cabinet, cooperating and supporting each other does not need to be in the cabinet," said Puan.

Previously, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said Budi Gunawan (BG) was not a PDIP cadre. Therefore, BG entered Prabowo-Gibran's cabinet not representing PDIP. BG, who had served as head of BIN, was the eye and ear of the president.

"If we look at Budi Gunawan and Prabowo, the good relationship is because the cooperation between BIN and the Ministry of Defense is a unit of conception. It is undeniable that Mr. BG was once adjutant to Mrs. Mega. He is not a member of the PDIP, so the attitude of BIN's head is the head of BIN as the president's ear," concluded Hasto.
