Social Minister Risma Provides Compensation Of IDR 15 Million Per Flood Victim In NTT

JAKARTA - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini said that his party would provide compensation of IDR 15 million per victim who died in the flash flood disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"The government will provide compensation of IDR 15 million each. The data is still moving because there are still missing things", Risma said in a virtual coordination meeting, Monday, April 5.

The Ministry of Social Affairs also provided compensation of IDR 5 million to victims who were injured as a result of the floods.

Then, the Ministry of Social Affairs will record the damage to houses to determine which houses need assistance and which do not. They coordinate with the Office of Social Affairs and the disaster response team in NTT for the distribution of aid.

"Tomorrow we will send tent food and blankets and clothes to East Sumba. It is estimated that our assistance, which tonight moves from Maumere to Adonara, then we also provide this assistance to Ende", said Risma.

It is recorded that as of April 5, 2021, the central government has submitted financial assistance amounting to IDR 2.6 billion to be provided for flood disaster management in NTT.

Then there were 190 packages of food for children, 191 packages of food, 433 packages of children's needs, 430 packages of family kitchen utensils, 750 units of mattresses, 30 units of roll tents, 315 units of mattresses, 90 sheets of blankets.

Then 4,000 adult t-shirts, 4,000 children's clothes, 2,000 sarongs, 500 blankets, 3,000 mineral water, 4,000 pampers, 166 mattresses, 500 liters of cooking oil, 300 kg of eggs, and 1,181 gabin biscuits.

Previously, the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Doni Monardo explained the development of the evacuation of flood victims in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Currently, 128 people have died. There are 72 people still missing and are in search.

It is recorded that there are 10 districts and 1 city that were affected by flooding in NTT and NTB. These areas are Kupang City, East Flores Regency, Central Malacca Regency, Lembata Regency, Ngada Regency, Alor Regency, East Sumba Regency, Rote Ndao Regency, Sabu Raijua Regency, South Central Timor Regency, and Ende Regency.

"This is a huge number. Let us pray to the victims who have died so that they will have the best place in the side of Almighty God and their families will be given courage", said Doni Monardo.
