Zelenskyy Calls The Presidential Election Event In The United States Bad For Ukraine

JAKARTA - The presidential election in the United States (US) has made Washington lose interest in what is happening in Ukraine. This was revealed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, October 18.

"Today, they are not fighting for Ukraine, they are fighting in elections, which is fair to their country. For us, it is unfair. We believe that we must remain focused. We are here Ukrainians, because we are at war," Zelenskyy told Ukrainian media in an online marathon interview., quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, October 19.

Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's B plan is to wait for a new president at the White House to determine the country's policy against Ukraine after the November 5 elections, which will bring together Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump.

"The United States is the main aid donor for Ukraine. If its policy changes after the election this change will be Plan B. The US policy itself will form a war direction or a path to stopping the war," Zelenskyy explained.

Zelenskyy presented plans to end the conflict in Ukraine to parliament on Wednesday, October 16. The document includes five points and three additional classified items.

In particular, the Ukrainian leader asked Ukraine to be invited to a meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) with subsequent membership, lift restrictions on attacks deep within Russian territory, and place "non-nuclear comprehensive deterrent packages" in Ukrainian territory to detain Russia.

According to this plan, the conflict must end no later than 2025.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said Zelenskyy's plans were just a series of incoherent slogans and pushed NATO into direct conflict with Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the real peace plan for Kiev was to be aware of Ukraine's policylessness.

Peskov said that Kiev should "build up" and understand the reasons that caused them to get caught up in the conflict.
