Police Apply Traffic Diversion During Prabowo-Gibran Inauguration

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya will implement traffic flow engineering on the Sudirman-Thamrin section during the inauguration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President and Vice President on October 20.

The implementation of traffic engineering is due to many VVIP guests and state delegates who will attend the inauguration process.

"Of course there will be some diversion of the current that we will do. Like in Harmoni, Horse Statue, HI Roundabout, Semanggi, as well as at the Senayan Roundabout. This is what we will of course see the Sudirman-Thamrin route," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman told reporters, Thursday, October 17.

Traffic engineering will be implemented in the morning or exactly at 06.00 WIB.

This is because the inauguration process is known to take place around 10:00 WIB. So, the invited guests will go to the inauguration location before that time.

Moreover, President Jokowi and Prabowo Subianto as elected Presidents are also certain to cross Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin to go to the DPR-MPR Building.

"Starting at 6 am, we have started to sort vehicle properly who will be prioritized," said Latif.

Regarding how long traffic engineering will be implemented, Latif said that until the inauguration ceremony ended and state officials and invited guests left the location.

"When we finish the event, it is estimated that until later Mr. Jokowi goes to Galim, we will also secure the route," said Latif.
