Members Of The Central Lombok DPRD For 5 Periods Become Suspects In Fake Certificate Cases

The West Nusa Tenggara United Development Party (PPP) DPW will provide legal assistance to its cadres, members of the Central Lombok Regency DPRD (Loteng) with the initials LN, who are suspects in the alleged case of forgery of package C diplomas for the 2007 academic year.

Chairman of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) PPP DPW Muzihir said that partyly PPP's stance still holds the principle of presumption of innocence.

"Yes, we will provide legal assistance because our cadre (PPP) is concerned. Because during his time as the head of the hamlet, as a member of the five-term DPRD, no one brought it up, but suddenly today he became a suspect," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 16.

Although he promised to provide legal defense, his party is still wondering why the cadre could be named a suspect because of a fake diploma.

Considering that he has been a member of the Central Lombok DPRD for five terms.

"So this is what we need to know, what really happened, whether it was the KPU negligence, because the KPU has been verifying so far. It should have been the KPU who gave/made (the certificate) that was arrested or the suspect was not our cadre because he received it. If it is not legal why the diploma was issued, it should be what was being pursued," said Muzihir.

"It's the same as people circulating counterfeit money, who is the maker and the dealer who was arrested. If we as users know it's fake money," he continued.

Looking back before this case emerged, continued Muzihir, he always used the same diploma when he registered as a member of the legislature, but it was never a problem or a problem when he was at the KPU, so his party would also investigate the matter.

"But we will wait for the legal force in court. Because we have to prioritize the presumption of innocence first," said the Deputy Chairman of the NTB DPRD.

His party has not been able to decide on the next steps, including making interim changes (PAW) to the position of its cadres in the Central Lombok DPRD.

"Regarding PAW, we will continue to see how the court's decision is, if the new inkrah is obligatory for us PAW, including the membership status as a PPP cadre has just been revoked. But now the person concerned is still a PPP cadre, because this is just because the suspect has not yet made a court decision, it could be a PK later, so we'll just have to wait," he said.

The Central Lombok Resort Police detained an individual member of the Central Lombok Regency DPRD with the initials LN regarding the forgery of diplomas for package C for the 2007 Academic Year.

"It is true that at this time we have secured LN at the Central Lombok Police Headquarters," said Central Lombok Police Chief AKBP Iwan Hidayat.

The police chief explained that the detention of LN was carried out after his party conducted an examination on Tuesday (15/10).

"Previously, we had sent the first summons on Friday (11/10) coincidentally, the person concerned was not present, when the summons for the two concerned was present, then the investigator conducted an examination," he explained.
