Nagan Raya Police, Aceh arrested MW (20 years) a resident of Gunong Kupok Village, Darul Makmur District, a local district suspected of embezzling more than Rp14.8 million in package COD money.

"The alleged perpetrator of MW was arrested on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, before the early hours of the morning, without giving any resistance," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Nagan Raya Police, Aceh, Iptu Vitra Ramadhani as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 16.

The arrest of the perpetrator was carried out by the police at the house of his half-brother, in the Alue Raya Village area, Darul Makmur District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh.

The arrest of MW was based on the report of the Police LP/B/91/XII/2023/SPKT/Polres Nagan Raya/Polda Aceh, dated December 28, 2023.

Iptu Vitra Ramadani explained that the alleged perpetrator of MW previously worked at PT MPSM as a package delivery / person who was ordered through the Shopee Xpress application with a Cash On Delivery (COD) payment system or paid on the spot.

After delivering the goods, the alleged perpetrator MW allegedly did not deposit the COD deposit to PT MPSM, resulting in a loss of Rp. 14,854,000.

For this incident, PT MPSM through its attorney to make a report to the Nagan Raya Police for legal processing.

"We are currently investigating the perpetrators, and are threatened with violating Article 372 of the Criminal Code regarding embezzlement with a maximum penalty of four years," said Iptu Vitra Ramadani.
