KPK Ready To Prove The Alleged Corruption Suspect Acquisition Of PT Jembatan Nusantara By ASDP

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that it is ready to prove the fraudulent practice carried out by the alleged corruption suspect in the acquisition and business cooperation (KSU) of PT Jembatan Nusantara with PT ASDP Ferry Indonesia (Persero).

This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika when asked about the confession of the President Director of PT Jembatan Nusantara, Adjie after being questioned on Tuesday afternoon, October 15. At that time, he pleaded not guilty.

As for this case, Adjie became one of four suspects based on the information gathered. While the other three are the boss of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), namely Ira Puspadewi who is the main director; Harry MAC as the planning and development director; and Yusuf Hadi who is the commercial and service director.

"Investigators and public prosecutors are obliged to prove the criminal elements that have been violated by the suspect," Tessa told reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, October 16.

Tessa also ensured that the KPK did not bother with Adjie's confession after being questioned. "The suspect has the right to defend himself and convey all defenses in court," he said.

Meanwhile, after being questioned, Adjie admitted that he did not know why the acquisition was problematic and was considered detrimental to the state. "That's what I myself asked (to investigators, ed)," he told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, October 15.

He emphasized that he only sold his company to PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero). He considered this process impossible to harm state finances.

"Well, that's what I'm funny about. In my opinion, yes, there is no (state loss, ed)," said Adjie.

Previously reported, the KPK is currently investigating cases of corruption in business cooperation (KSU) and the acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero). It is suspected that there has been a state loss which allegedly reached Rp1.27 trillion and is still changing because the calculation continues.

A VOI source said this loss arose because the acquisition process for PT Jembatan Nusantara did not comply with the regulations. Reporting from a number of reports, PT ASDP purchased PT Jembatan Nusantara in February 2022 with a value of IDR 1.3 trillion.

This state-owned company then controlled 100 percent of PT Jembatan Nusantara shares with 53 ships under management. "The process (in carrying out business cooperation and acquisition, ed) has no legal basis," he said.
