There Are 2.2 Million Residents Who Have Mastered E-KTP Data Records

JAKARTA - The 2020 Pilkada Potential Voters List (DP4) will be compiled in January. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) said that there were still 2.2 million Indonesians who had not recorded e-KTP data and this became a separate obstacle in preparing the list.

This was conveyed by the Director General of the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registry (Dirjendukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs Zudan Arif Fakrulloh. He said that millions of people did not want to do the recording immediately for various reasons.

One of them, is because of geographical reasons or because the distance traveled is too far to do the recording in one place. In addition, there are other reasons, such as feeling that you don't need an identity card.

"Because they were thinking why should I have an electronic KTP? I only go to the fields, only to the sea," Zudan told reporters in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 26.

He explained that the Papua and West Papua regions were areas where many people had not recorded any records. "Only later when they are sick, they need it. That's an obstacle," he said.

To complete the target of recording the electronic ID card data of 193 million people, in the future the Ministry of Home Affairs will collaborate with the Ministry of Social Affairs to utilize the Population Identification Number (NIK) as the basis for assistance for the Family Hope Program (PKH). In addition, they will give an explanation to the people who have not done the recording.

"We picked up the ball. So some of our officers went down to villages and districts and carried out awareness movements to build ecosystems, for health. Having ID cards can get free treatment, those in the city can make a SIM, open bank accounts, and social assistance," he explained.

Later, after trying to complete the target of 193 million data recording and the 2020 Regional Election DP4 has been completed, the next step for the Ministry of Home Affairs will submit it to the General Election Commission (KPU).

"The Pilkada Potential Voters List (DP4) will be deposited on February 20-22. We prepare it in January 2020 based on December 31, 2019 data," said Zudan.

The reason for the use of December 2019 is because data updates in the Dukcapil system are carried out twice a year, namely in June and December.

Ahead of the 2020 Pilkada

Zudan also explained, ahead of the 2020 Pilkada, communication between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the KPU was running well and there were no significant problems between the two agencies. "We have regular dialogues to discuss there is no problem, if the Pilkada has been since 2015, 2017, 2018, it is relatively safe," he said.

Simultaneous regional elections in 2020 will be held in 270 regions. There are 9 provinces that carry out the Pilgub election, 224 districts that conduct Regent elections, and 37 cities that carry out the election for mayor.

The nine provinces that will hold gubernatorial elections include West Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu, Riau Islands, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi.

It is recorded that there are two provinces whose entire regencies / cities do not hold Pilkada in 2020, namely Aceh Province and DKI Jakarta.
