NasDem Doesn't Send A Name In Prabowo's Cabinet Because Of Ethika-Preparency

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the NasDem Party Saan Mustopa explained that his party did not send names to enter the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet because it paid attention to ethics and appropriateness.

"So once again this is more about ethics and appropriateness only because NasDem is not a supporting party (during the 2024 presidential election) so if for example NasDem is noisy about the cabinet, it doesn't feel right," said Saan as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 14.

Because, he said, his party during the 2024 presidential election did not take part as a political party supporting Prabowo-Gibran who was part of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).

"Regarding the cabinet, NasDem always said that in this case, Mr. Surya, this is only a matter of ethics and appropriateness. This NasDem was during the 2024 presidential election, February 14th, it did not provide its support for Pak Prabowo," he said.

Saan said his party knew himself so that it prioritized political parties that were members of KIM to fill the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet.

"Therefore, ethically, NasDem certainly knows himself, that he provides an opportunity for coalition parties supporting Pak Prabowo-Pak Gibran to fill the composition in the cabinet. So, we give the opportunity first to all supporting parties to fill the posts in the cabinet," he said.

"So if for example NasDem is noisy about the cabinet, it doesn't feel right, you ask for this, asking for it, right. So, we are more in a position to know ourselves, right. We are more in a position to know ourselves, right. That's all," he added.

Saan also emphasized that his party's attitude in not sending names into the composition of the upcoming Prabowo-Gibran cabinet preparation does not mean attracting support for the upcoming government.

"Yes, we still pay attention to ethics and the matter of appropriateness and fairness. So once again this does not mean that NasDem does not provide support," he said.

On the other hand, he ensured that his party would continue to join the upcoming Prabowo-Gibran government coalition.

"Once again, NasDemfirm joins the government coalition and provides whatever support becomes Pak Prabowo's policies, programs and decisions," he said.

Previously, NasDem Secretary General (Secretary General) Hermawi Taslim said the NasDem Party ensured to be part of the government's elected President and Vice President Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka even though it did not send names to enter the cabinet.

"NasDem is a supporter of the Prabowo government, we have stated this many times to the public," said Hermawi.

According to him, NasDem's current decision is not to send names to join members of the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet. However, NasDem's commitment is still part of the government's support.
