The Group Between The Bodies Of Cagub Malut Benny Laos From Luwuk To Jakarta

North Maluku politician and Cagub Benny Laos died in a fatal accident while riding a speedboat. Benny's body was flown from Luwuk, Central Sulawesi by helicopter to Jakarta, Sunday, October 13.

"We were here to pay our respects, welcome and deliver the bodies who continued their journey to Jakarta using chartered aircraft at 12.10 WITA," said Head of Public Relations of the Banggai Police, Iptu Al Amin S. Muda, in a written statement quoted from ANTARA, Sunday.

He said Benny Laos' body arrived at Syukuran Aminudin Amir Luwuk Airport at 11.25 WITA using the Central Sulawesi Regional Police helicopter with flight number P3203 from Eliapbo - Luwuk.

The groups, namely the Head of Rumkit Polda Central Sulawesi AKBP Dr Judi Dermawan, the bodies of Benny Laos, Sherly Tjoanda (the wife of the deceased) and Fadly Mandea.

Banggai Police Chief AKBP Putu Hendra Binanggari picked up and delivered Benny Laos' body at Syukuran Airport Aminudin Amir.

His party has prepared and coordinated together with the Central Sulawesi Regional Police and the airport for the departure of Benny Laos' body from Luwuk to Jakarta.

"We, the big family of the Banggai Police, express our deepest condolences. May the family be given strength and fortitude," he said.

Benny Laos died at the age of 52 or coincided with the 25th anniversary of the North Maluku Provincial Government on October 12, 2024.

Cagub, who is also the former Regent of Morotai Island, died along with five other people who were declared dead after the burning incident of the Bella 72 speedboat while at Bobong Port.

According to the incident report received on October 12, 2024, at around 14:05 WIT, there was an explosion originating from Speedboat Bella 72 which was boarded by the group of Paslon Governor and Deputy Governor of North Maluku Number 4, Benny Laos - Sabrin Dehe with the team when anchored at Bobong Regional Port, Bobong Village, West Taliabu District, Taliabu Island Regency which resulted in a fire throughout the body speedboat.
