JAKARTA - It was reported that 22 people died as a result of Israeli bombings in the city of Jabalya in northern Gaza. Dozens of other people were injured.

The bodies were evacuated to the Baptist Al-Ahli hospital, according to the head of emergency services in northern Gaza, Fares Afana.

Afana said, apart from the death toll, there were also injured victims and a number of missing people were still buried in the rubble.

Reported by CNN, Saturday, October 12, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported several airstrikes had hit a densely populated neighborhood in Jabalia overnight and destroyed many houses.

Wafa reported 30 people were injured and 14 people were missing, citing emergency response officers. Rescue efforts are still underway.

Earlier the Israeli military ordered residents in northern Gaza to move south ahead of the planned military operation today.

The residents joined tens of thousands of other Palestinians who were asked to leave the premises on Monday's evacuation order.
