KPK Duga Commissioner Of Mineral Trobos Manages Mining Permit In North Maluku Via Muhaimin Syarif

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that a number of companies, including PT Mineral Trobos, are trying to obtain a mining business permit (IUP) in North Maluku through the former chairman of the North Maluku Gerindra Party DPD Muhaimin Syarif.

This was conveyed by the Director of Investigation of the KPK Asep Guntur when asked about the role of Muhaimin Syarif. He said this figure then conveyed to the former Governor of North Maluku Abdul Gani Kasuba.

It is suspected that many companies have asked Muhaimin for help. Asep said that one of the managers was the Commissioner of PT Mineral Trobos, David Glen Oei.

"Indeed, the company does not have (Muhaimin, ed). The point is not only his, there is something that belongs to him (Muhaimin, ed), there is something that belongs to David," he said.

Meanwhile, David has been questioned by investigators at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Tuesday, October 8. At that time he was questioned about the assets belonging to the former Governor of North Maluku.

Upon examination, David Glen did not provide any information. He chose to take a thousand steps with a number of people guarding him.

Previously reported, the KPK named the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba as a suspect in the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU). This determination is the development of the alleged bribery of goods and services procurement projects as well as the granting of permits within the North Maluku Provincial Government.

Meanwhile, Muhaimin Syarif, who is the former chairman of the Gerindra Party DPD and Abdul Gani's confidant, is currently undergoing trial at the Corruption Court at the Ternate District Court (PN).

In the indictment of the KPK public prosecutor (JPU), Muhaimin was charged with giving bribes to Abdul Gani in the amount of Rp. 4,477,200,000. The money was given several times.

The giving aims to influence Abdul Gani's position in order to provide a number of work packages for the procurement of goods and services in North Maluku to Muhaimin. The time of the incident was called the anti-corruption commission from 2021 to 2023.

This bribe is also intended for the issuance of recommendations or proposals from the governor regarding the application for a mining business permit (WIUP) area in North Maluku from 2021 to 2022.
